Method and publisher
This page explains who publishes the site and the method it follows, and then sets out the limits of the information it contains.
The publisher of the site
The site is published by Matthias Traussnig, attorney at law (Geneva Bar) and founder of Sentinel Legal. He worked for three years at the Office of the Public Prosecutor of the Canton of Geneva. He holds a CAS in Digital Finance Law from the University of Geneva, where he teaches on blockchain-related fraud.
The purpose of the site
Someone who has fallen victim to a scam first wants to understand what is happening to them, and then to know what to do. The information exists, but it is scattered between the authorities, the media and the platforms. The site brings it together on the basis of official warnings and explains it, giving a date for each item of information. The main version is in French, and the pages most useful to an international readership are also available in English.
Sources and publication rules
Each alert is based on an identifiable source, whether an authority or a media outlet, with its date and a link to the document. We describe methods without identifying any person, and the site does not name any platform or company either. To check a platform, it refers readers to the lists that the authorities maintain and keep up to date.
The limits of the site
The information published here does not constitute legal advice. Nor does the site offer a verification service, so the absence of a name from its pages does not mean that the name can be trusted. It does not offer to recover funds, and we never ask for payment for that purpose. It is not an emergency service either. If you are in danger, call 117.
Updates and corrections
The site is reviewed regularly, and the pages that cite sources show the date on which they were last checked. If you notice an error, please write to info@arnaques-suisse.ch. We will then correct the page concerned and date the correction, without removing the page from the site.
Declaration of interests
The site carries no third-party advertising or affiliate links, and it receives no payment from any platform, bank or provider mentioned on it. The facts it publishes rest on cited and dated sources from the authorities or the media. Its publisher is a lawyer who acts in cases of this kind, for victims as well as for people under investigation, so the site also helps to make him and his firm known. Where a lawyer's involvement may be useful, the site refers readers to the firm in a box headed The publisher of this site.
Disclaimer
Arnaques Suisse is a private site. It has no connection with the authorities whose publications it cites, and they have neither approved nor reviewed it. The information it publishes is general and abstract. It is kept up to date as far as possible, with no guarantee that it is complete or current, and does not take your particular situation into account, so that depending on the case other steps may be needed, or the same steps in a different order. It does not constitute legal advice and is no substitute for the opinion of a professional who knows your case. Using the site, answering the questionnaire and sending a message do not create a lawyer-client relationship. An alert summarises the cited source as at the date shown, and the source prevails where the two differ. Links to third-party sites are provided for reference, and their content is the responsibility of their authors.
